A "cookie" is a digital message that is sent to your Internet browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive in a browser-generated file. Most Internet sites utilize cookie technology as a necessary and effective method of keeping track of login names and passwords as well as user activity across their networks. Cookies increase the convenience of online services and are sometimes even essential to their use. While you have the ability to set your browser's preferences to reject all cookies, this is inadvisable unless you are working from a shared location. Cookies are used to remember your username and password upon subsequent visits so that you will not have to enter them for each browser session.

IP Address Monitoring

An IP address is a unique number assigned to a computer which is transmitted by an Internet browser to each server accessed as a user travels the Internet. Each and every computer surfing the Internet broadcasts such a number, which contains no personally identifiable information. Yesco's servers (as do most) receive and log this address for the purposes of systems administration and to gather statistical information with which to improve our services. Aside from logging the IP addresses of users posting messages in the Marketplace, IP numbers are also used to report information such as site traffic statistics to third parties, partners and investors.
